What we are

The new Confidential Enquiry into Maternal and Child Health (CEMACH) is launched in April 2003. CEMACH is founded on the Confidential Enquiry into Maternal Deaths (CEMD) and the Confidential Enquiry into Stillbirths and Deaths in Infancy (CESDI) and is part of a strategy for the development of the national confidential enquiries being implemented by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).

CEMACH has a wider brief to include children up to the age of 16 years and its aim is to improve future care of the mother, babies and children.
